The structure of Army bands is modular in
concept and designed to sustain the concurrent mission
capabilities. When adequately resourced, Army bands maintain the
ability to deploy one or more MPTs along with integral support
personnel and additional performing elements as necessary.
In civilian terms, the Army Band is comprised of multiple
ensembles with the ability to perform simultaneously in
different venues. |
The 246th Army Band is comprised of four Musical Performance Teams
(MPT). The MPT's include a Jazz Combo (Blues in Green), a Popular Music
Ensemble (Moment's Notice), a Woodwind Ensemble and a Brass Ensemble.
Additionally, the 246th maintains a Ceremonial Band which supports
missions requiring Military ceremonial music. Each of these perform
individually throughout the state as well as a combined tour once a year
during Annual Training.
